Vince Gabriele
1. Tell us about yourself: My name is Vince Gabriele and I am a youth conditioning coach in New Jersey. In September I opened a training Facility in Berkeley Heights NJ geared towards training youth and high school athletes. Before this I trained high school and professional athletes for 5 years at Fitness Quest 10, a training facility in San Diego. Before moving to California from NJ, I attended Temple University and played football. As a 300 pound Offensive lineman I spent many hours training to get stronger and faster and it was there that my career as a performance coach started. Plagued by several injuries throughout my football career I searched for a better way to train to help prevent all the injuries I had. I knew my football career was over but wanted to help other athletes maximize their potential. Through this I even found something better, I found out with the help of the IYCA that I could not only help kids become more athletic but make them better people. We are in the business of developing character, hard work, discipline, trust and responsibility to our youth. 2. How has being a member of the IYCA impacted you and your career? Being a member of the IYCA has been a huge player in our success. The IYCA has helped us mold our Youth Training program that is helping kids get better every day. The Science the IYCA presents is fantastic but more important is their lessons on coaching. We can have all the information in the world but if our athletes do not believe in us or cannot understand us, it is useless. All of our coaches are required to be IYCA certified because we feel this is the gold standard in Youth Training. 3. What is you biggest tip for your fellow IYCA Members? The biggest tip I can give to other IYCA members is to be passionate about whatever you do. I work very long hard hours and still do not feel like I have a job. Your passion will bleed to your employees, athletes, parents and other youth coaches in your area. Being passionate will always keep you hungry for knowledge and you will have this incredible drive to better yourself every day. The better you are the bigger impact you will have on the people you come across. Luck is when Preparation meets opportunity, if you find great things are starting to happen it is probably because you made them happen.
